Skechers has been named the headline sponsor of Watford FC's Community Sports and Education Trust.

The global footwear and apparel brand will provide a significant financial contribution to the charity's community engagement efforts over the next two years.

This will help more than 40,000 people, according to recent statistics.

The partnership will see Skechers' branding on the Trust's Player Development Pathway bibs and on one of the Trust's community events, Step Up, which takes place at Vicarage Road Stadium in Spring 2025.

The annual event at Vicarage Road Stadium sees participants run, walk, or climb, up and down the stands of the 20,000+ seater stadium.

Richard Parker, managing director for Skechers UK and Ireland, said: "Skechers is proud to partner with Watford FC and The Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust.

"Improving the lives of those in our community through sport and education is extremely important, and as Skechers ventures into performance sports, including football, working with young athletes of the future to encourage, develop and build confidence is vital.

"Having seen first-hand this important work the Trust offer over the years, inspired by the late Graham Taylor OBE, it is something we are excited to see continue, while supporting its development."

The Trust has been running for more than 30 years and offers a range of community activities including adult weight management programmes, chair-based exercise for older adults, youth clubs, school sessions, and football activities.

Rob Smith, community director at the Trust, said: "We are extremely pleased to welcome Skechers as our new headline sponsor, a position we’ve not had for many years.

"It comes at a vital time for the Trust as this secures the future of several of our activities and the operations that ensure we can continue enriching people’s lives.

"Ultimately, that is what this comes down to, with the help of Skechers, more people will benefit from our work and that is a fantastic thing.

"Thank you to Richard and the team at Skechers UK & Ireland for their fantastic support, we look forward to working together in the future."
