There is a nod to the past in Watford’s new black away kit which has been unveiled today.
The shirt features a yellow and red stripe, but a closer look at it reveals what the club described as a “subtle pattern” of the their old crest from the 1950s, while Hornets wings “entwine faintly” on the fabric to give it a modern look.
The kit announcement adds: “The stripe recalls memories of the 2010/11 home shirt, and the pattern is taken from the club’s badge used in 1958 and 1959.”
