Ken Sema has had a tremendous start to the new season before a match has even been played as he and his wife Sara have celebrated the birth of their second child.

Ken and Sara both posted pictures of their baby boy Romeo on Instagram, saying: “Another beautiful blessing has come through!! We’re so grateful for you and your sister! #GodIsGreat #Blessed”

Sema’s teammates were quick to leave their messages of congratulations in the comments with Tom Dele-Bashiru, Jack Grieves, Mattie Pollock and Jonathan Macaulay among those to send their best wishes to the family.

Watford Football Club added their own message, and there were also kind words from some of Sema’s former teammates such as William Troost-Ekong, Nathaniel Chalobah, Christian Kabasele and Jamal Lewis.

Meanwhile, Ken’s brother Maic, also a professional footballer currently playing for Sundsvall, kept his message simple but perfectly sweet: two red heart emojis.

A number of Sema’s fellow Swedish internationals posted their well wishes, including Issac Thelin, Isak Hien and Mikael Lustig.

Sema is one of the most popular players at Vicarage Road, where fans have dubbed him ‘King Ken’.

The 30-year-old moved to Vicarage Road in 2018 and is the second longest-serving player at the club.

Sema has made 159 appearances for the Hornets, and scored 13 goals.

He was given the club’s Community Champion award in May as recognition for him being a role model to young supporters and inspiring fans who, like him, have a stammer.

Sema teamed up with national charity Stamma, promoting the topic across newspapers and television, including an interview with Sky Sports.

Recently he met with speech and language specialists at the NHS and visited Harpenden Memorial Hospital to speak with other adults with a stammer.

In an interview with The Watford Observer last season, Sema made it clear he had developed deep feelings for the town and its people.

“Watford is very much a part of me and my family,” he said.

“The people of the town, the fans, they have always been supportive of me since day one.

“We’ve been through good and bad times together, and the fans have always been right behind me.

“Watford is my home. Watford is my club.”

The Watford Observer sends it congratulations to the Sema family.
