Leeds United have paid the third-highest individual transfer fee in the Championship this summer, but they’ve also been busy trimming their squad.

They have signed Tottenham defender Joe Rodon for a fee of £10m but that was as part of a deal that took Archie Gray, valued at £40m, in the other direction to North London.

Rodon, who began his career with Swansea, has 45 caps for Wales and spent last season on loan at Leeds having played for Stade Rennais in France before that.

Four players have left Elland Road in the last few days, all moving to fellow Championship clubs on loan.

Darko Gyabi, the England Under-20 international defender, has moved from Leeds to Plymouth Argyle for the season, while Australian winger Sam Silvera will spend the 24/25 campaign at Portsmouth.

Preston have taken midfielder Sam Greenwood from Leeds for the season, and defender Jamie Shackleton will also spend a season away from Elland Road having agreed a loan move to Sheffield United.

As well as Gyabi, Plymouth have also agreed a season-long loan for striker Muhamed Tijani from Slavia Prague.

The 23-year-old Nigerian Under-20 international has played for a number of different sides in the Czech Republic since leaving his home country five years ago.

One move that has caught the eye is Millwall's first summer signing, that of prolific striker Macaulay Langstaff from Notts County.

The 27-year-old scored 70 goals in 96 games while with County, and before that he'd netted 33 times in 61 outings for Gateshead.

The fee has not been disclosed, but is believed to be around £700,000.

The vast majority of other signings being made currently in the Championship are either free transfers or loans, but Sheffield Wednesday have spent £500,000 to sign winger Olaf Kobacki from Arka Gdynia in Poland.

The 22-year-old spent a number of seasons in Italy with Atalanta but was unable to break into the first team.

The Owls have also taken young goalkeeper James Beadle on loan from Brighton.

Defender Jack Currie has moved from AFC Wimbledon to Oxford United for £450,000. The 22-year-old left back made 45 appearances for Wimbledon last season.

West Brom have signed central defender Torbjorn Heggem from Swedish side Brommapojkarna for £500,000.

The 25-year-old Norwegian began his career in his homeland with Rosenborg.

Luton have made their first signing of the summer, bringing in midfielder Shandon Baptiste from Brentford on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old made 55 Premier League appearances for the Bees, and also has three caps for Grenada.

Defender Hevertton has joined QPR on a free transfer from Portuguese side CF Estrela, the 23-year-old Brazilian having started his career with Sporting but left without making a first-team appearance.

Rangers have also signed centre-back Liam Morrison from Bayern Munich II, the club’s B team.

The Scottish Under-21 international moved to Germany from Celtic five years ago and spent last season on loan at Wigan, where he made 35 appearances.

Newly-promoted Derby County have taken Swansea striker Jerry Yates on loan for the season.

The former Blackpool forward, who scored twice against Watford in a 3-1 win in the 22/23 season, only moved to Wales a year ago for a fee of £2.5m.
