A former Watford O2 shop worker turned professional boxer has signed a new sponsorship deal with her former employer.

Watford-born super-flyweight fighter Shannon Ryan has a long history with the company, having worked at the town's store for five years before starting her professional boxing career in March 2022.

Ranked number 11 worldwide and number 2 in the UK, undefeated Ryan stands among the most exciting prospects in women's boxing.

She said: "I can’t wait to compete for my first-ever British title this weekend, an event made even more exciting as I also announce my partnership extension with O2.

"From working in the O2 Watford retail store to being sponsored by them from the beginning of my boxing career and over the past two years, there have been so many incredible moments to celebrate together.

"It’s been a dream come true and I look forward to the next chapter of our partnership."

The partnership renewal was confirmed as she prepares for a fight against Emma Dolan for the British and Commonwealth titles, due to take place at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on Saturday, June 22.

Ryan, who fought on the first ever all-female card at The O2 in October 2022, is signed to fellow Watford boxer Anthony Joshua’s 258 Management boxing roster.
