You Matter’s Andre Best said: “A big thank you to all the stall holders, Watford Borough Council, Wenzel's, Meriden Residents Association, Clean Herts Community… and what a bonus when our local hero turned up, AJ himself.”
Clean Herts Community was set up by the two-time world heavyweight champion, who grew up on the Meriden Estate and joined in the family tug of war yesterday. The community-interest company aims to help members in Watford and Hertfordshire in as many ways as possible, recently starting free community boxing classes at the Meriden Centre.
Meriden Residents Association chairman Stephen Moss described the event as a “fantastic day”, adding that it was “lovely to see so many happy faces having so much fun”.
One Vision was recruiting MacMillan Cancer Champions on the day. The Watford charity’s CEO also lauded the festivities as "filled with activities and great community spirit”.
