Code Ninjas Borehamwood have teamed with a cricket club in a new shirt sponsorship deal.

The kids coding centre is linking up with Abbots Langley Cricket Club (ALCC) in a three-year agreement.

This sponsorship extends beyond normal branding on the team's shirts, with the coding community centre providing specialised coaching for the club's young members.

Meha Meghani, a mum and co-owner of Code Ninjas Borehamwood, said: "Both my co-owner Ade and I have had our children involved with the club for the past few years.

"From our first-hand experiences, we’ve seen the significant impact the club has had on our families’ lives and the invaluable developmental opportunities it provides for its members."

She continued: "Nurturing and developing children’s curiosity, resilience and willingness to take on challenges sits at the heart of Code Ninjas’ values, making this sponsorship a perfect match for us.

To launch the partnership, the Borehamwood team established a stall at a cricket session.

Ms Meghani said: "Our stall provided an opportunity for youngsters to get hands-on experience with coding.

"We were thrilled to see a high-level of interest from the families who attended, and it was truly gratifying to witness so many children discovering a newfound passion for cricket and coding.

"Overall, it was a fantastic event benefiting ALCC, Code Ninjas Borehamwood, and most importantly kids in our community."

ALCC’s chairman, Phil Lewin, added: "We’re looking forward to our new relationship with Code Ninjas Borehamwood as we work together to help children develop their physical and mental skills in tandem."

Ms Meghani said she "can't wait" to see how the deal encourages more kids to enjoy cricket and coding this year.
