Watford Swimming Club have been celebrating one of the finest results in their history after finishing top of the medal table against 18 other clubs in Hertfordshire to be crowned county champions.
With an impressive 230 medals won over the four weekends of the competition at the Swim England Hertfordshire County Championships, this superb medal count ensured it was the best result ever for the club at the event.
A total of 70 swimmers from Watford SC competed and their hard work and commitment in training over the last few months was evident in the results.

There were some thrilling races, with the Men’s 50m Freestyle final being decided by two one hundredths of a second, the Girls 400m Freestyle final being decided by five one hundredths of a second and the Girls 200m Butterfly final being decided by one hundredth – all involving Watford swimmers fighting for the finish.
Watford also saw dominance across some of the younger age groups, with representation in most finals and medals across many.
The club has commended all those who took to the pool “for their extraordinary racing, passion and team spirit”.
