Two of Watford’s young players have joined neighbours Kings Langley on loan.
Striker Michael Adu-Poku and goalkeeper Gabriel Ortelli have moved to the Orbital Fasteners Stadium and are in the squad for today’s away game at Stotfold.
Kings are currently 10th in Southern League Central Division stable and are managed by former Hornet Jordan Parkes, who is assisted by ex-Watford player, Mark Boyce.
Adu-Poku and Ortelli could be playing alongside another former Golden Boy, Jorell Johnson, who is the captain and recently clocked up his 300th appearance for the club.
Meanwhile, there is another recent link between the two clubs as defender Freddie Buers moved to Watford’s Under-21 team from Kings a few weeks ago.
Adu-Poku scored the winner in midweek for the Under-21s as they beat league leaders QPR 1-0 away from home.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut in January 2023 when he started the FA Cup tie at Reading, and he added a substitute appearance in the Championship later that month when he came on for the last 11 minutes of the 1-1 draw with Rotherham at Vicarage Road.
Keeper Ortelli, 17, has played for Watford’s Under-18s and Under-21s, and would be eligible for selection for Cyprus due to his family roots.
He has recently returned from a short loan spell with Isthmian League North side New Salamis.
