The referee who was in charge of Watford’s first away victory this season is due to be in the middle again when the Hornets bid to continue their fine run of away form on Saturday.

The EFL website has stated that Andrew Kitchen has been appointed as the official to take charge of the trip to Bristol City when Valerien Ismael’s men will be aiming to avenge the 4-1 defeat they suffered at home to the Robins on Boxing Day.

Kitchen’s first fixture involving Watford this season was the 1-0 victory at Swansea City in October and, including that win, the Hornets have taken 17 points out of a possible 24 on their travels, with their only defeat coming at leaders Leicester City.

The referee has taken charge of a total of 21 league and cup fixtures so far this season, showing a total of 64 yellow cards and one red.

The assistant referees for the 3pm kick-off at Ashton Gate are due to be James Wilson and Nigel Lugg, with David Rock the fourth official.

The hosts will go into the game buoyed by knocking West Ham United out of the FA Cup last night, although they have not won in the league since their victory at Vicarage Road.
