Watford will assess the calf injury that forced Edo Kayembe’s exit from the African Cup of Nations, but they expect two other players to be back playing in the next two weeks.
Kayembe was due to represent DR Congo in the tournament in the Ivory Coast, but returned to London Colney this afternoon.
He’ll find Jamal Lewis and Ken Sema still in the treatment room, though the news on both is positive.
“Jamal has made great steps and he will be back next week and he’ll have another full week to prepare,” said head coach Valerien Ismael.
“We don’t want to rush him for the game on Sunday so we expect him to be back after that.
“Ken will take another week, so he will be back for the cup game against Southampton.

“Unfortunately Edo will miss the African Cup of Nations due to a calf injury he picked up at the Plymouth game.
“He’s back with us now and we will assess him to see how long he will be out for.”
Filling another chair in the medical room will be forward Kwadwo Baah, whose loan at League One side Burton Albion was terminated this week by mutual agreement.
The 20-year-old German made 21 appearances and scored two goals for The Brewers, but a hamstring injury curtailed what was due to be a season-long spell in Staffordshire.
“He’s injured, so he will need time to recover and then we will take it from there,” said Ismael.
