A referee is set to take charge of a second Championship fixture involving Watford this season when they bid to get back to winning ways tomorrow.

It has been announced on the EFL website that Sunny Singh Gill has been appointed to officiate the Hornets’ trip to Preston North End on Saturday.

The official, who was in the middle for Watford’s goalless draw at Huddersfield Town in November, has already taken charge of 22 league and cup games this season, showing a total of 91 yellow cards and three reds.

Mark Stevens and Jonathan Hunt are due to be the assistant referees for the 3pm kick-off at Deepdale, with David Webb on fourth official duties.

Valerien Ismael’s men will kick-off four places and four points behind their opponents following Tuesday night’s tough 2-1 defeat at home to Ipswich Town.

Eighth-placed Preston won 3-1 at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday to end a sequence of four games without a victory, including back-to-back home defeats at the hands of Cardiff City and QPR.
