Watford’s Under-18s will host Manchester City in the third round of the FA Youth Cup at Vicarage Road on Tuesday December 19 (7pm).
Tom Cleverley’s side will be hoping for another strong performance in the competition, following last season’s run to the fifth round that yielded impressive wins over Lincoln City and Everton, before defeat to eventual runners-up Arsenal.
City promise a tough test however, with Ben Wilkinson’s side - who claimed the most recent of three Youth Cup titles in 2020 - currently sat third in the Premier League Under-18 North Group table.
Ticket details for the eagerly-anticipated encounter will be announced soon.
• Watford will take an Under-21 side to face Tring Athletic in the Herts Senior Cup on Tuesday (December 5, 7.45pm).
Admission for the game at The Michael Anthony Stadium in Cow Lane, Tring, will be £9 for adults, £5 for over-65s and 16/17-year-olds, and free for Under-16s.
Last season, Watford reached the semi-final of the competition before going out to eventual winners Berkhamsted.
Tring are currently sitting 13th in the Spartan South Midland League Premier Division, which is the ninth tier of English football.
They lost 2-1 at Colney Heath last Saturday, and their Under-18s recently reached the second round of the FA Youth Cup before losing 3-1 at Leyton Orient.
• The cup tie next week means that Watford Under-21's scheduled league game against Millwall has been moved, and will now take place at London Colney on Monday December 11 at 1pm.
