Kings Langley's Ondine Achampong has been crowned National Champion of the Year by leisure provider Everyone Active.

The gymnast, who has represented Great Britain in a number of events, was given the award at London's Porchester Hall on Tuesday (November 7).

The awards, hosted by Britain's double world 110m hurdles champion Colin Jackson, celebrate those who have had career successes or have helped to inspire other sportsmen and women.

Achampong began her gymnastics journey at the age of three and often trains at Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre.

She is a member of Everyone Active's Sporting Champions scheme, which supports 1,400 athletes.

Steve Cox, Everyone Active’s contract manager, said: “Our congratulations go to Ondine on a fantastic year and a well-deserved award.
