A referee is set to take charge of his second game involving Watford this season when Valerien Ismael’s men bid to end their three-game losing run at Cardiff City tomorrow.

Surrey official Gavin Ward, who was in the middle for the 1-0 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers at Vicarage Road in August, has been appointed for the Hornets’ final outing before the second international break of the campaign.

Ward has taken charge of seven previous matches this season and has shown a total of 26 yellow cards and no reds.

Adam Crysell and Lee Venamore are due to be the assistant referees at the Cardiff City Stadium, with Benjamin Speedie on fourth official duties.
