A new series filmed in the local area sees rugby legends train an unlikely team of novices.
Last night (September 27), the first episode of Grand Slammers aired on ITV1 as a team of prisoners honed their skills ahead of a game against a rival team of Australians.
The two-part documentary was filmed at HMP The Mount, in Bovingdon, and features Martin Johnson, Jonny Wilkinson, Lawrence Dallaglio, Phil Vickery, Jason Robinson, Will Greenwood, Ben Cohen, Mike Tindall and Matt Dawson from the 2003 Rugby World Cup winning side.

The second night of the unusual Rugby World Cup 2023 tie-in will be broadcast tonight (September 28) from 9pm until 10.30pm, also on ITV1, and feature the trainees and legends taking on ex-pat Australian rugby players led by George Gregan.
The Bovingdon prison is home to one of the only remaining rugby pitches inside an adult male English prison, and the hope is that the unique challenge helps the prisoners turn their lives around as well as develop an appreciation for the sport.
Episode 1 is available to watch on demand via ITVX.
