Watford’s Ken Sema claimed an assist as Sweden romped to a 5-0 away win in Estonia yesterday.
The 29-year-old played the full 90 minutes of the Euro 2024 Group F qualifier at left back, and it was his 39th-minute cross which allowed Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak to head Sweden’s third goal.
The victory puts Sweden third in the group, although they are four points adrift of leader Belgium and second-placed Austria.
Sema was earning his 16th cap yesterday, although it was only his third in competitive games – 13 of his caps have come in international friendlies.

His last outing for Sweden in a competitive game was as a late substitute in a 1-0 defeat away to France in the UEFA Nations League in May 2020.
On Tuesday night (September 12), Sema is set to come up against his Watford teammate and captain Daniel Bachmann when Sweden host Austria in Stockholm’s Friends Arena (7.45pm UK time).
Edo Kayembe picked up his 15th cap for the Democratic Republic of Congo when he came on for the last 32 minutes of their 2-0 win over Sudan in Group I of the African Cup of Nations qualification.
It was Kayembe’s first cap since he scored in a 3-0 friendly win over Sierra Leone in September 2022.
That win over Sudan sees DR Congo top Group I, although they were awarded a 3-0 win after their game against Mauritania finished 1-1 after it emerged Mauritania had fielded an ineligible player.
They now head to the finals which will be held in the Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
Shaq Forde came on as a substitute in the final minute of stoppage time as Leyton Orient came from behind to win 2-1 at Exeter in League One yesterday.
