Defender George Abbott has had his loan at Chippenham Town cut short after Watford recalled him yesterday.
The 18-year-old joined the National League South side in the summer and was set to be there until November 5.
However, the Hornets have brought him back to Vicarage Road, and it seems likely he’ll be involved in the Under-21’s game with Peterborough at 2pm today.
Abbott made three appearances for The Bluebirds, first coming on as a sub in a 4-2 away to Havant & Waterlooville.
He then replaced injured Aaron Amadi-Holloway against Torquay United in a 2-1 defeat for The Bluebirds, and his final appearance for the club came with a start at home against Tonbridge Angels on August 19.
Abbott was a mainstay of Watford’s Under-21 side last season, regularly captaining them, and he also wore the armband for the Under-18s during their FA Youth Cup run.
The defender has also been capped by Wales at every age group from Under-15 to Under-19, and last season captained the older age group.
Last season The Watford Observer spoke to Abbott at length, and you can read that interview here.
