Ismaila Sarr has thanked Hornets fans for their “unwavering support” and says “a piece of my heart will always remain with Watford and its amazing supporters” after completing his move to Marseille.
The Senegal international ended his four-year stay at Vicarage Road after completing a permanent move to the Ligue 1 in a deal we understand is worth at least €18 million to the Hornets.
Following the move, the 25-year-old has issued an emotional statement on social media to thank his former club and its fans for their support.
His farewell message posted on Instagram reads: “As my time at Watford comes to an end I wanted to say a heartfelt goodbye and a huge thank you to each and every one of you.
“The past four years with this club have been absolutely incredible, and your unwavering support has meant the world to me. Your passion and cheers from the stands have motivated me on the field, and I will forever cherish the memories we’ve created together.
“I want to express my gratitude to the entire club for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of this amazing family.
“Though I’ll be moving on to new challenges, a piece of my heart will always remain with Watford and its amazing supporters.
“Thank you all for being a crucial part of my journey. I will miss you dearly.
“With love and gratitude.
“Ismaila Sarr”
