A former Watford captain could be linking up with a former Watford head coach, who has not ruled out the move.
Rumours have abounded since Xisco Munoz took the job at Sheffield Wednesday that he would look to bring in Troy Deeney, who is without a club after leaving Birmingham City.
Deeney was pivotal on and off the pitch as Munoz steered Watford back to the Premier League in the 2020/21 season.

The stories circulating have suggested that Munoz would like to have Deeney as a player/coach at Hillsborough.
The Owls are currently on a pre-season trip in Spain, and after last night’s 0-0 friendly draw with Real Murcia Munoz was asked about Deeney.
"No, I have contact with Troy but I've not spoken with him recently because I've been very busy these last few days so it's the same situation,” said Munoz, speaking to Yorkshire Live.
"Always there is the possibility, for everything. But we will see what happens.
“Right now we need to know exactly which profile of striker we have and then we will try to give something different. But you never can say never."
