Just a few days after representing his country at the Under-20 World Cup Finals in Argentina, Yaser Asprilla has been picked for the Colombia senior squad.
The midfielder is in the 24-man party for two games, starting with a match against Iraq at Valencia’s Estadio Mestalla on Friday June 16.
Then, on Monday June 19, Colombia travel to face Germany at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen.

Alongside Asprilla in the squad are the likes of Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, Davinson Sanchez of Spurs and Everton defender Yerry Mina.
It was only on Saturday that Colombia were knocked out of the Under-20 World Cup, when they lost 3-1 to Italy in the quarter-finals.
Asprilla scored in a win over Japan as Colombia won their group, and then netted again in a 5-1 defeat of Slovakia in the round of 16.
Despite only being 19, he already has two senior caps to his credit.
His debut came in a 2-1 friendly win away to Honduras in January 2022, and then he scored after coming off the bench in a 4-1 win over Guatemala in a friendly in September.
Asprilla made 37 Championship appearances for the Hornets in his first season at Vicarage Road, 23 of them coming as a substitute.
He also started both the Carabao Cup tie against MK Dons, and the FA Cup game away at Reading.
His first goal in Watford colours came against Huddersfield at Vicarage Road in April.
Asprilla signed for Watford in January 2022, but was immediately loaned back to Envigado to complete the season in Colombia. He then flew straight to Watford’s pre-season training camp in Austria to meet up with his new teammates.
