The world’s top golfers are currently competing for major glory at the US PGA Championship but 40 years ago some of the biggest names in the sport descended on a Rickmansworth course to play alongside stars of stage and screen.
The Bob Hope Classic was played at Moor Park Golf Club from 1981 to 1983. The English-born American entertainer was one of the most prominent celebrities to play the sport at the time, meaning plenty of his Hollywood friends were willing to compete in the tournament that carried his name.
