Premier Division
It has been a good week for St Josephs as they have picked up nine points, meaning the destiny of the title is in their own hands.
This is because they now face the only two teams who could prevent them winning the championship, WD Bushey and North Watford, in their final two league games.
Last Wednesday evening they swept aside Evergreen 4-0 thanks to goals from Lee Benning, Robbie Tocher, Lewis Davies and Louis Stead.
That was followed on Sunday with two hard-fought wins in the double header with Cassiobury Rangers.
The first game was decided by a goal from Stead who drilled a shot into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box.
The return was almost as close but Joes came out on top 2-0 thanks to another goal from Stead with his third in as many games and one from Liam Smyth.
Division Three
Everett Rovers finally sealed the second promotion place with a 1-1 draw with Batchworth.
It also means that if Everett beat Bricket Wood Acorns in their final league game this Sunday they will win the title from Inter on goal difference.
Marcus Rivers netted for Batchworth and Louie Muncie scored the vital goal for Everett.
Despite the disappointment on missing out on the top two places, it has been Batchworth’s best ever season.
Unless Everett score ten in their final game, Batchworth’s 68 league goals will be the highest in all four divisions, but they are left to rue drawing five games, and only taking one point from the two fixtures with mid-table Rio Rovers.
