More than 12,000 Watford season ticket holders renewed during the club’s ‘Early Renewal Price Offer’ period.
With the club having 13,600 season ticket holders from this season it means the Hornets have retained almost 90%.
The Early Renewal Price Offer saw anyone who renewed on or before April 19 able to do so at the same price as 12 months ago.

As a guide, the club generally see a churn rate of between 5% and 8% each season, and with season tickets now back on sale at the standard renewal price, it seems likely that they will again retain between 92% and 95% of season ticket holders.
After the 2018/19 season, when the Hornets finished 11th in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup Final, around 1,400 supporters did not renew their season tickets.
Last summer there were roughly 1,500 who chose not to renew, and Watford managed to fill those available season ticket spaces from the 4,000-strong waiting list.
The waiting list has once again risen to around the 4,000-mark again, so the club are likely to contact those on the list once new season ticket sales begin later in the process.
However, renewals will be available until Friday May 26, at which point sales of season tickets will cease and the opportunity for supporters to move seats will begin.
The usual wide range of payment options will continue to be available to all renewers. Supporters using the club’s interest-free 12-month Direct Debit facility need take no action to renew. As was the case last year, payments will simply roll forward into a new seasonal cycle.
Last year’s Season Ticket Renewals Guidance document proved popular with all information in one place, so the club have updated it for this year’s renewals.
It includes details of the change in replacing the ‘Full-Time Student’ price category with a 19-21-year-olds category. This removes the increasingly onerous burden for supporters to provide confirmation of student status. In covering the typical further education years and widening the eligibility to a cheaper rate Season Ticket, the club are looking to recognise the financial challenges upon young adults entering the workplace, as well as those continuing their education.
