Watford Swimming Club sit three points off the top of Division One of the Herts Major League after some strong performances in the pool saw them secure an improved second spot in round two of the competition.
Competing against Hatfield, Potters Bar, Hertford, Verulam and Harpenden, the swimmers from Watford built on their performances from the first round when they finished third and led the gala at the mid-way point.
It was an impressive night for the team, with outstanding individual performances from race winners Matt Aldred in the Boys 9+ 100m Individual Medley and 100m Backstroke, Esmee Hui in the Girls 9-11 50m Backstroke, Karson Chan in the Boys 9-13 100m Breaststroke, Matei Bosianu in the Boys 9-15 100m Butterfly and Will Rogers in the Boys 9-13 100m Backstroke.
The success continued into the relay events, with the Watford team winning in dramatic fashion in the Mixed 9-13 200m Freestyle Relay and the Mixed 9+ 400m Freestyle Relay.
