An official who has yet to referee a Watford game this season is set to be in charge when the Hornets bid to follow up their victory against Birmingham City with another three points at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Graham Scott has been appointed to officiate in the game against a Wigan Athletic side currently 23rd in the Championship table, five points from safety.

Scott has taken charge of a total of 16 matches this season, showing a total of 47 yellow cards and three reds.

The Select Group official refereed two of Watford’s more memorable matches in their ill-fated Premier League campaign last year, the 5-2 win at Everton and the 2-1 victory at Southampton, although the last time he was in charge of a Hornets game was the 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace in May when he sent off Hassane Kamara and the club's return to the Championship was mathematically confirmed.

Scott is due to be assisted by Derek Eaton and Steven Meredith for the 3pm kick-off, with David Rock on fourth official duties.
