Wetherspoon has confirmed both its Watford town centre pubs will remain open ahead of the Hornets’ weekend clash with Luton.
The club and Hertfordshire Constabulary issued fresh guidance on plans to prevent any trouble during the 12pm game at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
But amid concerns raised about pubs before and after, the Watford Observer has been told both The Moon Under Water and Colombia Press will stay open.
Wetherspoon spokesperson Eddie Gershon said: “Both The Moon Under Water and Colombia Press will serve alcohol from 10am instead of 9am on the day of the football match.
“This was requested by the police.
“Wetherspoon works closely with Watford police and licensing on an ongoing basis.
“Both pubs will be offering food, hot drinks and soft drinks from normal trading times on Sunday.”
Mr Gershon added police had not requested the pubs close and The Moon Under Water will be accepting both sets of fans. Colombia Press will not accept Luton supporters.

It is currently unclear whether other pubs and bars will remain open, and Herts Police declined to reveal whether they had asked them to shut.
A spokesperson said: "As part of planning for any major event of this kind, licenced premises are liaised with and provided guidance in line with licensing legislation."
Herts Police have warned there will be a “significant police presence” to maintain public safety adding “the rivalry is not an excuse for disorder or antisocial behaviour”.
More detailed guidance on measures at the game was revealed this morning (October 19), with a joint statement from police and the club outlining how each set of fans will leave the ground.
It reads: “Home supporters will asked to leave the stadium via one of two routes, whilst Luton Town fans will be asked to use a different, third route. The aim is to separate the two sets of fans, thus avoiding any potential conflict in promoting public safety.
“Designated stadium exit routes will be communicated directly to Watford supporters before the weekend.”
Fans will also be able to stay within the stadium and await confirmation that Vicarage Road is open – expected to be around 10 minutes after the final whistle.
