Watford have signed 19-year-old Colombian striker Jorge Cabezas Hurtado, who will join the club on a six-year contract in summer 2023.
Last season he netted four times in ten appearances for Real Cartagena in the Torneo Dimayar, the second division of the Colombian National League.
He made his debut when just 17, as a substitute, during the 2020/21 season.
Cabezas Hurtado has four caps for Colombia Under-19s, all gained during the Maurice Revello Tournament, which was formerly known as the Toulon Tournament.

He scored the second goal in a 2-1 win over Japan which helped Colombia top group C. Earlier, he had scored in a 5-4 penalty shoot-out defeat at the hands of Comoros (drawn group games go to penalties to give winning or losing draws).
Colombia then went out to eventual runners-up Venezuela on penalties in the knock-out stage, though Cabezas Hurtado was not one of the takers.
The youngster prefers to use his mother’s surname, Hurtado, and is nicknamed ‘Paquito’ in Colombia – a name given to him by the owner of his first club, Indubolsas, because of his likeness to one of their players from the past.
No fee has been mentioned for the capture of the striker, but at the recent press conference to announce their new coach Martín Cardetti, Real Cartagena president Renato Damiani hinted that the revenue from this and one more player sale will guarantee the arrival of the four experienced reinforcements that the Argentine coach has requested for the 2023 season.
Watford have shown a real knack for unearthing outstanding young players from South America, such as the likes of Joao Pedro, Yaser Asprilla and Richarlison.
