A boy is “over the moon” after having won two national dirt-bike competitions before he competes internationally representing the UK.
Marty Spires, age 11, from South Oxhey came first in the ACU British Motocross championship held on September 10 and 11.
He then emulated this result with another win at the Bridgestone British Masters on September 17 and 18.

Marty said: “It felt very good.
“I’m over the moon that all my hard work has paid off."
Marty’s hard work involves doing an extra hour of school every day for four days so he can train with his academy one day a week.
He also sees a personal trainer twice a week.
He said: “I’m eating healthy and doing lots of training to get fit.
“I do press ups, cardio and skipping.”
The whole family, including Marty’s mum, dad, and sister, travel with Marty when he competes.
Soon, the family will be heading to Belgium for an international tournament on October 1 and 2.
