Upgrades have started on Watford’s leisure centre following a £200,000 investment.
Work at the Watford Leisure Centre Woodside in Horseshoe Lane, managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Watford Borough Council, began at the beginning of September and is expected finish at the end of October.
The investment, made by Everyone Active, will include upgrading the existing AstroTurf to new 3G pitches, and the addition of new goals allowing for 5-aside, 7-aside and 11-aside football matches.

Everyone Active’s contract manager Gary Foley said: “Our football facilities are hugely popular, so we’re excited to be able to give the community an even better playing experience.
“To celebrate the new facilities, we will be hosting an open day where members of the public can try them out for free.
“Watch this space for more information.”
The mayor of Watford Peter Taylor added: “We have seen this summer the unique way in which people can be brought together with sport and I look forward to seeing these new improvements do the same.”
