Rob Edwards admitted he was “bit frustrated” after tonight’s 1-1 draw at Birmingham City as he felt Watford created enough chances to have won the game.
The Hornets came from behind after trailing at half-time, but they created at three very good opportunities in the first half while Joao Pedro could have snatched the win at the end.
Asked whether it was a good point, Edwards responded: “We’ll certainly take it after going 1-0 down. Birmingham were really well organised, you could see they were more in that mid-block so we had some good control tonight. We did have a lot of the ball which we asked for, we wanted more control, but it was two-fold really – we wanted it and Birmingham probably allowed us to have it, I understand that. But I do think on the balance of play we had more chances.
“They were certainly a threat on the counter attack and we had to control that, even the throw-in they scored from was almost a quick transitional counter-attacking moment, and that was their big threat, trying to get (Scott) Hogan down the side as soon as they won the ball back.
“We’ll take it because we have shown some good character after going 1-0 down and we kept trying to do the right things and coming away on a Tuesday night to Birmingham is not easy, but I think after the performance and the chances we created I’m a little bit frustrated as well because I felt we could have won the game.”
