Two Watford footballers opened the new office of an accountancy firm.
Hornets midfielder Tom Cleverley and Golden Girl Helen Ward cut the ribbon at Mercer & Hole’s new premises in Church Street in Rickmansworth.
Mark Cassidy, partner at Mercer & Hole, said: “What an honour it was to be joined by two incredible players, helping us to celebrate the opening of our new offices here in Rickmansworth. Both players are an inspiration to many, locally and nationally.”

Cleverley, who joined the Hornets in 2017, was asked what career advice he’d give to his younger self.
He responded: “Hard work! Also, it’s so important to listen to older and more experienced people. When you first start out you are so young and excited to be playing, it’s essential to listen to and respect the knowledge of your elders.”

Ward, who captains Watford FC Women, said: “If you dream it; believe it! I thought there would be no chance of playing professional football let alone international football as a kid, so believing in yourself, even if your friends think it’s crazy, is so important.
“I would also reiterate that there’s a place for you if you want it, in any industry.”
