Striker Joshua King only signed a one-year deal with Watford last summer and so has already left the club, while any potential transfer for former striker Richarlison would earn Watford a sell-on fee.
Chairman Scott Duxbury confirmed both when I met with him at the club’s training ground last Friday.
Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Everton and has been mentioned in the same breath as Spurs and a fee of £51m.
The Hornets would be entitled to 10 per cent of anything above the £40m they received from the Toffees in July 2018.
Meanwhile, Duxbury addressed the rumours around the futures of Moussa Sissoko and Danny Rose by saying: “There are clubs that are already talking to them. We’ll see what happens.”
Defender Francisco Sierralta was rumoured to be joining Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv on loan but I’m told there’s nothing in that, while various reports suggested Aston Villa’s 20-year old striker Cameron Archer is under consideration by the Hornets.
He would certainly fit the bill in terms of Rob Edwards wanting to bring in a couple of young forwards, but at the moment there is nothing to indicate concrete interest in the player who scored seven times in 20 appearances on loan at Preston last term.
