Watford are assessing the fitness of Ismaila Sarr this week after the player received treatment at the end of Saturday's draw against Manchester United.

The player gingerly walked off the pitch at Old Trafford at the weekend, flanked by two club physios, who were seen looking at the player's leg after the final whistle.

Club sources have since explained to the Watford Observer that further assessment is required before it can be determined whether he is okay to return to action in time for this weekend's game against Arsenal, or if he is set to miss any matches.

During his post-match press conference, manager Roy Hodgson suggested there did not seem to be too much of an issue.

"He was in the dressing room after the game and he seemed to be okay but I don't know if he took a knock or not," he said. "He seemed happy in the game and I hope it won't be serious."

Hodgson also spoke about Joshua King, who was substituted early in the second half for the second game running and was seen holding his lower back throughout the first half.

The manager said it was simply a case of three games in a week taking its toll.

"With Josh it was quite simple, it was his third game in a week, he was suffering a bit with his back and a shoulder injury from training," he said. "I think it was quite simply a question of him tiring and needing a break and luckily we were able to take him off and put somebody else on."

Having no games until Sunday should give King the time he needs to recover, as it should also do for Kiko Femenia, who was unable to play at Old Trafford after taking a slight knock in training.

The Watford Observer has been told the injury is "nothing important".
