Watford have this evening played down links to Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu.
Reports in France earlier today claimed that a £3million deal for the Nigerian was "close" but club sources have this evening told the Watford Observer that a winger is not a position they are looking to bolster.
The Hornets have already completed three signings this month and have not ruled out making further defensive additions, but in attack they feel they are well equipped for the remainder of the campaign
Kalu shares an agent with on-loan midfielder Peter Etebo, but the pair are not expected to unite at Vicarage Road, despite the claims of French media.
So far this season, the attacker has one goal and one assist from 12 appearances in all competitions. Overall he has ten goals and eight assists from 86 games for Bordeaux.
