Murals have been painted, a football ground is being transformed into a concert venue and in a little over 48 hours time the Hornets' most famous fan will again step out on stage at Vicarage Road to perform at the club that has been a huge part of his life.
Sir Elton John has played three previous concerts at the club where his name is named is etched in folklore after he became chairman and oversaw the golden era in the club’s history when Graham Taylor’s side rose through up the football pyramid to finish second in the old First Division, qualify for Europe and reach a first ever the FA Cup final.

Watford's Honorary Life President's first show at the stadium was 48 years ago in 1974 when he was joined on stage by Rod Stewart, he returned in 2005 before his last performance came in 2010 to help raise money for the club.
We first shared these pictures from our archive in November when the Farewell Yellow Brick Road shows were announced, but hope you enjoy looking through them for the first time or again as anticipation builds ahead of what promises to be another memorable two nights when one of the world’s most famous musicians rocks the Vic again.
