Francisco Sierralta is focused on Watford's next Premier League match after having to miss out on international duty with Chile.
Premier League players have been blocked from travelling to play with their nations during the break if their games are due to take place in countries on the UK Government's red list.
With all of Chile's matches set to be hosted by such nations, Sierralta will instead stay in the UK and work with the Hornets as they prepare to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at home a week on Saturday.
However, the centre back took to social media to express his disappointment at not being able to represent his country in their three World Cup qualifiers against Brazil, Ecuador and Colombia.
"It is very difficult to put into words what it means to me to play for my National Team, my Country," he wrote in a post on Instagram.
"It is always a pride and a giant emotion to wear the Red shirt.
"Today, the Premier League players find ourselves in a difficult and complicated situation, in which we do not have authorization from our clubs to travel to South America, due to government sanitary rules that harm us a lot on the return trip, which I hope will be resolved soon.
"But this does not mean that my support for La Roja and my teammates will not be stronger than ever! The greatest success in these qualifiers."
After making his Premier League debut against Tottenham last weekend, Sierralta said it was a dream to be playing in the competition and that his focus is now on helping the team improve after back-to-back defeats.
“It’s a dream (to make my debut), but I would have preferred if it had come with a different result," he told the club website.
“We will work together and improve as a team.
“The international break comes at the right time because we can work on a few things and prepare for Wolves.”
