Watford put in a much improved performance away at Tottenham but were undone by a brief lapse in concentration and lost 1-0.
Here's how we rated their individual efforts.
Daniel Bachmann - 5
Made some good saves, but was ultimately at fault for the goal. Needed to take control of the situation and come and claim the ball.
Craig Cathcart - 5.5
Struggled a bit with Steven Bergwijn and made a silly challenge that resulted in the free kick for the goal. Unlucky to go off injured.
William Troost-Ekong - 6
Made some vital challenges, denied Harry Kane with an interception late on.
Francisco Sierralta - 6.5
Didn't do anything wrong on his return to the team and helped contain a very strong Spurs attack. Troost-Ekong benefits from his presence.
Adam Masina - 5
Another game where he struggled. Maybe needs a bit more time to adapt to the division.
Peter Etebo - 6
A better performance than at Brighton. Made some great interceptions and helped keep the defence compact.
Juraj Kucka - 6.5
Ran out of steam a bit towards the end of the game, but for the most part was solid and showed why he will be so important this season.
Moussa Sissoko - 6
A positive debut, especially after joining just two days before. Could be very significant as the Hornets look for survival.
Ismaila Sarr - 7
Caused a lot of problems but just couldn't find a way through.
Emmanuel Dennis - 6.5
Like Sarr, looked threatening, but lacked a bit of patience and finesse in front of goal.
Joshua King - 6
A thankless task playing as a lone striker in a counter attacking match, but worked hard throughout.
SUBS
Jeremy Ngakia - 6.5
Got forward and helped with the attack while also defending valiantly.
Cucho Hernandez - 5.5
Spurs kept him out of the game effectively after his arrival, but still looked like he could, and will, cause issues this season.
Tom Cleverley - 6
Added a bit extra in midfield but couldn't change the flow of the match.
