Former Watford Technical Director Filippo Giraldi said that he will be rooting for the Hornets this season despite no longer being part of the club.
The Italian’s departure from Vicarage Road was confirmed in December last year, four months after the club crashed out of the Premier League after five seasons.
Watford have since returned to the top flight and signed Emmanuel Dennis, Joshua King, Imran Louza, Ashley Fletcher, Danny Rose, Peter Etebo, Ozan Tufan, Kwadwo Baah, and Juraj Kucka, while also bringing back Cucho Hernandez, to help with their campaign, but Giraldi feels that a couple of more signings wouldn’t harm Watford’s prospects.
When asked if the Hornets can steer clear of relegation he said: “It’s too early to say. A lot of teams are still incomplete. And I also think Watford has a couple of important situations to be decided. What is sure is that I hope with all my heart they will stay up.”
