Xisco Munoz felt his Watford side showed both order and patience as they snatched a late 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace to progress in the Carabao Cup.
The Hornets made it to round three via a late Ashley Fletcher goal, after soaking up pressure during the first half and improving in the second.
After the match, the head coach said that he felt his side could have offered more in attack, but that over all they had put in a good balanced performance.
"The most important today in the game was that we had very good order," said Munoz.
"Always we had good distance in the lines, always I think we understood what was happening in the game. We know that in front we had very difficult situations sometimes. But most important was that we gave this balance.
"In the last two games we received a lot of goals. I think today we had this balance and didn't receive any.
"We had two or three chances in the game, but it's important to have patience and wait for the moment to take our chance.
"It's true we can give a better performance with the ball sometimes, but well done for the guys because they gave a very good performance".
