Watford are nearing the signing of Slovakia midfielder Juraj Kucka from Parma on an initial two-year deal.
Reports in Italy claim a deal is complete, however the Watford Observer has been told there's still a little bit of work remaining before anything can be formally announced.
A medical is expected before the end of the week after terms were agreed with the Serie A side.
The 34-year-old has spent the majority of his career in Italy, playing for the likes of AC Milan and Genoa, as well as Parma, with whom he has spent the last two seasons.
He has also played for Turkish side Tranbzonspor as well as Slovak team MFK Ruzomberok.
Kucka is primarily a central midfielder and has been brought in to bolster an area that could see outgoings before the end of the transfer window.
Will Hughes is moving closer to a departure, while Nathaniel Chalobah is yet to extend his contract and could also leave.
