Watford attacker Dapo Mebude has been released from hospital after picking up a back injury in last night's friendly against Stevenage.
The game, which finished 1-1, was ended prematurely by the referee with the 19-year-old receiving treatment on the side of the pitch in the final few minutes.
He was taken straight from the pitch to an ambulance and onto hospital, however the club has confirmed this morning that scans revealed no clear damage.
A statement reads: "Dapo Mebude was taken to hospital after last night's match at Stevenage, after being stretchered off with a back injury.
The scans were all clear and he has been released to return home. He will now be assessed by the club's medical team."
Concern grew for Mebude at the final whistle as he appeared unable to get up following a challenge out on the touchline.
Following the match, Hornets winger Ken Sema said that he hoped the injury would not be as bad as it had initially looked.
"I didn't see the situation really, but it looked bad, it looked really bad," said Sema. "I really hope for him and for his family that he will be alright, because he looked really bad.
"I really feel for him and I hope for him, for the team and for his family it will be alright."
