A Watford side were beaten 3-1 by Brentford at the Hornets' training ground earlier today, ahead of their friendly with West Bromwich Albion.
Supporters return to the Vic for the game with the Baggies this afternoon, but in a bid to get his players as much game time as possible, head coach Xisco Munoz first took charge of a match against the fellow promoted side.
Ivan Toney scored twice, while Halil Dervisoglu added another.
Henry Wise scored for Watford from the penalty spot.
The defeat is Watford's first of pre-season, following wins over Millwall and Colchester, also held at the training ground behind closed doors.
