Daniel Phillips has become the second young Watford player to make a season-long loan move today.
The midfielder will be aiming to significantly bolster his professional experience after joining League One Gillingham ahead of the new campaign.
Like Adam Parkes whose loan move to National League side Dover Athletic was announced earlier this afternoon, Phillips moves after signing a new professional contract at Vicarage Road.
The 20-year-old made his Hornets first-team debut as a late substitute in the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on the opening day of last season.
He went on to start both of Watford’s EFL Cup ties and also come off the bench in the 4-1 home Championship victory over Preston North End and the 1-0 FA Cup third round loss at Manchester United.
