Udinese right back Jens Stryger Larsen is unlikely to join Watford this summer despite interest from the Hornets.
The Danish international received plenty of praise for his performances at Euro 2020 and with the well-established link between Watford and Udinese, it seemed possible that a move could happen.
However, sources close to the player have said that there other options for Larsen to consider at "top teams" across Europe, including those who will play in European competitions next season and that a transfer to Vicarage Road is not thought to be likely at this stage, contrary to reports elsewhere.
Larsen himself is currently on holiday following the Euros and in no rush to decide his future just yet, but it is expected he will depart the Serie A side this summer.
A move to Watford has not been completely ruled out but would not take place until near the end of the transfer window, with other options preferred for the time being.
The 30-year-old made has 42 caps for Denmark and has made 140 appearances altogether for Udinese, scoring five goals.
