Xisco Munoz is happy with Watford's pre-season preparation so far after the players returned to training last week.
The Hornets have games against West Bromwich Albion, Stevenage, Barnsley and Crystal Palace coming up prior to the beginning of the season and the majority of the team have already begun working, while others are expected to return in the coming weeks.
The head coach described the first week back as "brilliant" and said that his side had arrived with both energy and ambition as they look ahead to their first season back in the top flight after a one-year absence.
“I’m very happy with the guys because the first week was brilliant. Everyone worked very hard and this is a good way to come back to the Premier League,” Munoz told the club website.
“It’s lovely, everyone has arrived in a very good mood, with full power to work very hard, and it is very good when the coach feels everyone wants to give 100 per cent for the team.
“In the first week it is important they come and have the same intensity, the same mentality, and the most important thing right now is that step-by-step, we try to give our best form.
“The first week was perfect because they gave this and more. They came with full energy, full power and ambition, and it is important to always continue with the same mentality.”
