Watford goalkeeper Rob Elliot has signed a new two-year deal with the club.
This afternoon reports emerged in the Athletic that the keeper had extended his stay, which have since been confirmed.
An extension to Elliot's deal had been expected after the club announced they were negotiating a new contract with the former Newcastle keeper, when they announced their released and retained list last month.
The club see his experience as important to the likes of Daniel Bachmann, Pontus Dahlberg and Adam Parkes, all of whom are still relatively inexperienced goalkeepers.
Bachmann is expected to be the first choice shot-stopper come next season but the Hornets were keen to keep the 35-year-old among the team as well for their Premier League return.
Elliot is yet to make an appearance for Watford after signing a short-term deal as a free agent last season.
