Watford could be set to sign Jens Stryger Larsen from Udinese this summer, but it is unlikely to be before Euro 2020.
Last week, the Watford Observer revealed that a move from the fellow Pozzo-owned club, which has been made by several players before, was a possibility for the Dane, with his contract in Italy entering its final year.
It is understood that move is still an option for the defender, but not the only one open to him.
The Observer has also been told that reports in Italy this morning claiming a deal is already in place are premature.
Sources close to the player have said that the defender's focus for now is on the Euros and that any decisions regarding his future will likely be made after the tournament.
Larsen has been included in Denmark's 26-man squad for the upcoming competition where he will face Finland, Belgium and Russia in the group stages.
The 30-year-old is primarily a right-back but can also deputise in the centre of defence and has been known to play on the left as well.
He made 35 appearances in all competitions for Udinese last season, scoring twice.
