Xisco Munoz has said the way Watford have overcome their poor away form has been "amazing" and that he feels they are now much better on the road.
Prior to the head coach's arrival, the Hornets had won just two from 20 league matches on the road, but they added their fourth from their last five away games this evening with a 4-1 win at Rotherham United.
With just nine games remaining of this season, the side's improvement looks to have come at the right time.
"It's important for us because I remember when I arrived, we spoke about our problems when we play away," said Munoz. "We didn't have control of the games we didn't start the games with the intensity that we want, we didn't arrive with the same team away as we had at home.
"Now we have more balance, we have more time on the ball when we are away. We have that control of the game, we understand what happens in the games, we have the tempo and the timing of the game.
"I think the team is improving. It's not easy win all the games and they give 100 per cent for the team, and for the squad, and when you have these qualities, it's amazing."
Helping them pick up their win at Rotherham was a number of substitutes, with Ismaila Sarr, Kiko Femenia, Will Hughes, Philip Zinckernagel and Nathaniel Chalobah all changed during the match.
While most of those swaps were for rotation purposes, Sarr's has created some cause for concern with the winger slumping to the ground moments before departing.
"We'll see tomorrow because I don't know exactly," the head coach said of the winger. "Sarr is sometimes like a Superman and sometimes he's maybe a little tired. If he'll be ready for the next game, we'll see.
"I want to say congrats for who was on the bench and came into the game because they gave 100 per cent.
"I believe in everyone, in all the players in our squad. Sometimes you have more chances to give more minutes or not. But I think everyone, when they do have the minutes, give their best for for the squad and I think we have very good team spirit and this is important for the team."
