Ben Foster thinks Watford's success this season could be dependent on injuries and squad depth as he continues his recovery from a broken finger.
Speaking to TalkSport, the goalkeeper said that perhaps the Hornets, among others, have underestimated how tough the second tier can be, describing the division as "carnage", and said that avoiding injury problems could have a big part in how well the remainder of the campaign goes.
"The games do come so thick and fast that within the space of a month you could have played eight or nine games and you can boost yourself up from sort of fifth or six in to the top two and in the automatic places," said Foster. "You've just got to take each game as it comes and just pray that you don't get many injuries and things like that.
"It's a crazy league, honestly this league is so tough. I think a lot of, or probably most, teams have underestimated how tough it is.
"You play one match one week and then four days later, you've got another game and it's a completely different proposition. It's absolute carnage but we're enjoying it. It's just very tough and you don't really know what you're going to get half the time either."
